Group Swim Lessons

Fall 2020
The Fall 2020 group swim lessons will be offered in two formats. Sessions 1-5 are two week sessions that run Monday-Thursday for two weeks (eight classes). The Tuesday session is an eight week, one class per week (8 classes) session that is every Tuesday. Classes for Sessions 1-5 are offered 5:00-5:35p or 5:50-6:25p. Classes for the Tuesday session are offered 6:40-7:15p. Levels 1-5 and Parent-Tot will be offered.

For Fall 2020 group swim lessons, swimmers registered for Levels 1-5 will be tested on the first class and be placed into the appropriate level. Please bring the most recent report card, if applicable. If a swimmer is placed into Levels 1-3, parents will be in the water.

For levels 1-3, the instructor will be in the water coaching the swimmer and parent/guardian through the lesson to avoid physical contact, due to COVID-19 safety best practices. One parent/guardian is in the water for levels 1-3. 

Due to COVID-19, we are limiting those accompanying swimmers to swim lessons to one parent/guardian per swimmer. 


Fees are $105 for members and $145 for non-members per session.

Parent-Tot (Ages 6-35 months)
Parents will learn how to hold and move their infants/toddlers as they learn to be comfortable in a safe aquatic environment. Water skills include kicking, floating, and pulling. Parents are in the water for this class. (formally Aqua Squirts 1 and 2)

Level 1 (Ages 3-12 years)
Designed for children who have never had a swim lesson before. Participants will work on the following skills: putting their face in the water, floating, kicking, and bobs. The instructor will be in the water coaching the swimmer and parent/guardian through the lesson to avoid physical contact, due to COVID-19 safety best practices.

Level 2 (Ages 3-12 years): 

Designed for children who are already comfortable putting their face in the water and floating on their own. Participants will learn to kick on their back and on a board as well as reinforcing skills learned in level 1. The instructor will be in the water coaching the swimmer and parent/guardian through the lesson to avoid physical contact, due to COVID-19 safety best practices.

Level 3 (Ages 3-12 years): 
Participants joining level 3 should be able to kick on their back and on a board. This class introduces children to freestyle as well as continuing to strengthen their ability to flutter kick on their front and back. The instructor will be in the water coaching the swimmer and parent/guardian through the lesson to avoid physical contact, due to COVID-19 safety best practices.

Level 4 (Ages 4-12 years)
Participants will work on skills such as rotary breathing during freestyle, diving into the water, streamline, and will be introduced to backstroke.

Level 5 (Ages 6-14 years)
Swimmers will continue to work on endurance in freestyle and backstroke as well as be introduced to butterfly and breaststroke (formally Junior Patriots and Pre-Competitive).
